At The Janice Hart Foundation, we believe that caregivers are the silent strength behind so many lives—and they deserve just as much care, support, and recognition as those they serve.
Our mission is to empower, uplift, and support caregivers of individuals with progressive and chronic illnesses through compassionate programming, mental health support, education, and advocacy.
We are committed to building a community where caregivers feel seen, heard, and valued. Through leadership, training, and resource-sharing, we work to ensure that no caregiver ever feels alone in their journey.
Whether you’re a caregiver yourself or someone who wants to support this vital community, we invite you to be part of our movement. Together, we can build a culture of kindness, care, and collective strength.
Our Story: Inspired by Love. Built for Caregivers.
In 2020, our founder, Ashley Durovic (Hart), finally had the time and space to reconnect with her purpose. After years of quietly carrying the weight of what she had seen—and deeply felt—she recognized a calling she could no longer ignore. That calling was to create a space for caregivers, the often-overlooked heroes of our communities.
For a while, Ashley kept her vision close to her heart. Would others understand the need? Would anyone show up? But in June 2022, she stopped waiting for the “right time” and started building what she wished had existed for her own family: a compassionate, connected, empowering place for caregivers.
This work is personal.
Ashley watched her grandmother, Janice, become a full-time caregiver for her husband—Ashley’s grandfather—after his Alzheimer’s diagnosis. Years later, Ashley’s aunt took on the role of caregiver for Janice during her battle with colon cancer, all while working full-time and managing life during a pandemic.
Ashley witnessed the toll caregiving takes. The isolation. The exhaustion. The love. And the heartbreaking absence of resources or community. When her grandmother passed in March 2022, Ashley knew it was time to turn grief into purpose.
So she founded The Janice Hart Foundation—named in honor of her beloved grandmother—to give back to the caregivers who give so much of themselves every day.
Today, The Janice Hart Foundation exists to do what caregivers so rarely have time to do for themselves: receive care. We provide support, education, mental health resources, and advocacy for caregivers—especially those caring for loved ones with progressive and chronic conditions.
To our sponsors, community leaders, and caregivers: This isn’t just a mission. It’s a movement.
We invite you to stand with us—to fund, uplift, and walk alongside those who care without pause.
Welcome to The Janice Hart Foundation family. We’re honored to have you here.

What services does The Janice Hart Foundation provide?
At The Janice Hart Foundation, we believe that caregiving should never feel like a journey walked alone. Our mission is to stand beside caregivers—offering not just compassion, but concrete, meaningful support.
We provide a growing range of services designed to ease the emotional, financial, and logistical burdens caregivers face every day. This includes:
Peer and therapeutic support groups to offer a safe space for connection, healing, and shared experience. Volunteer assistance to give caregivers much-needed breaks and hands-on help.
Emergency bill assistance for caregivers experiencing short-term financial hardship.
Resource navigation—including access to trusted contacts for home health aides, elder law attorneys, physicians, and both independent and assisted living facilities.
As we continue to grow, so will our offerings—always informed by the real, evolving needs of the caregivers we serve.
We invite sponsors, community partners, and advocates to join us in building a more supported and sustainable future for caregivers everywhere.
Together, we can give back to the ones who give so much.
When will the caregiver support groups begin?
We’re currently preparing to launch our caregiver support groups, designed to serve as safe spaces for encouragement, mental health support, and real connection. These groups are expected to begin as early as late 2025 early 2026, as we expand our infrastructure and leadership.
To Our Sponsors & Community Leaders Your partnership helps us turn vision into action. With your support, we can scale programs, train leaders, and build a sustainable network of care that reaches more families.
Whether you're looking to fund a mission that matters, support local caregivers, or align your values with impact-driven work, we’d love to connect.
To Caregivers This is your community. You give so much of yourself—now it’s your turn to be seen, supported, and surrounded by people who truly understand.
Thank you for supporting The Janice Hart Foundation. Your generosity directly fuels the heart of our mission—to care for those who care for others.
As a growing nonprofit in its early development, we’re currently in Phase One of a thoughtful seven-stage plan to build a sustainable, impactful organization. Your financial contributions during this foundational phase help us lay the groundwork for long-term success.
What Your Support Helps Us Do:
1. Cover essential overhead like website hosting, marketing materials, and digital infrastructure (Google Suite, email services, etc.) Design and print community outreach materials, branded take-home resources, and promotional items for local events
2. Support the foundation's presence at community events—building awareness, trust, and relationships with caregivers, families, and supporters
3. Our Commitment to Transparency Financial integrity is central to our mission. If you ever wish to see documentation or a breakdown of how funds are being used, we will happily provide it. We believe donors deserve clarity and confidence in the impact of their giving.
100% Volunteer-Led
None of our board members—including our founder, Ashley Durovic—receive compensation. Every hour donated is an act of service. Our leadership is committed to keeping the foundation lean, mission-focused, and transparent until we are fully self-sustaining.
What’s Next?
As we move into Phase Two, donations will begin funding our own caregiver-centered events, workshops, and resource-sharing opportunities. Your ongoing support makes this possible.
Together, we are building more than an organization—we’re creating a movement grounded in compassion, community, and care. Thank you for being part of this story.
